TheThe Rochester Edge, in support of women's and
girls hockey, has created several new women's hockey teams that will be "Skating For The Cure" as they prepare
to compete at the 2009 USA Hockey National Tournament. Rochester has been chosen to host
the Nationals in April 2009. The upcoming season is dedicated to
raising funds and awareness about Breast Cancer The Rochester Edge, in support of women's

our season long effort will be directed to support women's hockey and primarily to The Comprehensive Breast Care Center at
Wilmot Cancer Center. Our goal is to
raise $100,000 to support the research, patient care, and patient services that Wilmot provides for people in the Greater
Rochester region.The purpose of Skating for the Cure (SFTC) is to increase awareness
of breast cancer and to engage the Rochester area youth hockey organizations in supportive fundraising and community service.

Rochester has been chosen as host for the 2008-2009
US Women's and Girls National Hockey Championships this Spring. The Rochester Edge Girls Hockey Program has dedicated
the season to Skating for the Cure: raising funds and awareness for breast
cancer. The funds raised through Skating for the Cure will benefit the Wilmot Cancer Center's Comprehensive Breast Care Center.
